There is no denying from the fact that 365 Days is one of the most popular films of this year. Popularity is popularity and it’s beyond any moralistic judgment. This erotic drama film is again in the headlines these days. Although, 365 Days has remained in the headlines since its release in February of this year. But currently, this Polish erotic film is in the news because a petition has been filed to remove 365 DNI from Netflix.
For the unfortunate people who have not yet watched this film, here is a brief profile of the film. 365 Days is an erotic drama. The story of this film revolves around a mafia don Massimo Torricelli and his obsession with a girl he saw randomly on a beach. The handsome Don kidnapped the girl and gave her 365 days to fall in love with him (Thus the name of the film). This film includes many adult scenes.
Reason Behind The Popularity
Even after getting mostly negative reviews from the critics, 365 Days has broken numerous records. The obvious reason behind this is that it had become a guilty pleasure for the audience to watch this film during the lockdown. In many countries like India, Germany, Israel, Pakistan, and Canada, 365 Days made it into the top three most viewed items.
Why A Petition Has Been Launched To Remove 365 Days From Netflix?
Recently, Mikayla Zazen has launched a petition on Change.org to remove this film from Netflix. The petition has garnered support from thousands of people around the globe. At the time of writing this article, the petition had over 77 thousand signatures. This film has been accused of glorifying the kidnapping and physical violence against women.
As for now, Netflix has not taken any action against this film. But it would be interesting to see whether Netflix removes 365 Days or not, should the petition garner more support in upcoming days.
